Father’s Help – R.K. Narayan Unit-3 [Class10th]

Unit-3

 1)As  he entered the school gate, an  idea occurred to him.

= যেইনা সে বিদ্যালয়ের দরজা / ফটক দিয়ে প্রবেশ করল তার মাথায় একটি বুদ্ধি খেলে গেল / উদয় হল ।।

2)He would deliver the letter to the headmaster at the end of the day.

 = সে দিনের শেষে চিঠিটি প্রধানশিক্ষকমশায় কে দেবে ।।

3)There was a chance Samuel might do something during the course of the day to justify the letter.

= দিনের এই সময়ের মধ্যে স্যামুয়েল স্যার এমন কিছু করতে পারে যেটা এই চিঠি দেওয়ার একটা ভালো কারন \আছিলা হতে পারে

4)Swami stood at the entrance to his class.  

= স্বামী তার শ্রেণীরকক্ষের দরজার কাছে দাঁড়িয়েছিল

5)Samuel was teaching arithmetic.  

।= স্যামুয়েলস্যার পাটিগণিত শেখাচ্ছিলেন

6)He looked  at Swami.

 = তিনি স্বামীর দিকে তাকাদলেন 

7) Swami hoped Samuel would scold him severely.

= স্বামী আশাকরেছিল স্যামুয়েল স্যার হয়তো তাকে ভীষনভাবে বকবেন ।  

8)“You are half an hour late”, Samuel said.

= স্যামুয়েলস্যার বললেন, “তুমি আধঘন্টা দেরিতে এসেছ ।“

 9)“I  have a headache,  Sir.” Swami said.         

= স্বামী বলল, “আমার মাথার যন্ত্রনা করছে /করছিল” ।              

10)“Then why did you come at all?”

= “ তাহলে তুমি আদৌ এলে কেন ?”

11)This was an unexpected question from Samuel.

 = এটা স্যামুয়েল স্যারের কাছ থেকে একটা অপ্রত্যাশিত প্রশ্ন ছিল ।।

12)Swami said, “My father  said   I shouldn’t miss school, sir.”

= স্বামী বলল আমার বাবা বলেছেন আমার বিদ্যালয় কামাই করা উচিত নয় ।
13)Samuel looked impressed.  

= স্যামুয়েলস্যার কে দেখে প্রভাবিত মনেহল ।      

14)“Your father is quite right.

 = “তোমার বাবা একেবারে সঠিক”

 15)We  want more parents like him”

= আমাদের ওনার মতো আরো বাবা-মা দরকার

16)“Oh, you  poor man!” Swami thought, “You don’t know what my father has done to you”.

 = “ হায়রে অভাগা মানুষ”, স্বামী ভাবল , “ আপনি জানেন না আমার বাবা আপনার কি করেছেন ” ।

17)“All right, go to your seat”.           

= “ঠিক আছে তোমার জায়গায় যাও” ।।          

18)Swami sat down, feeling sad.

= স্বামী দুঃখ পেয়ে / মন খারাপ করে বসে পড়ল ।  

19)He had never met anyone as good  as Samuel.   

= তার স্যামুয়েল স্যারের মতো এমন ভালো করোর সাথে কখনো দেখা হয়নি ।

20)The teacher was inspecting the home lessons.

= শিক্ষকমশায় বাড়ির কাজ পরীক্ষা করছিলেন ।  

21)To Swami’s thinking, this was the time when Samuel got most angry.

= স্বামীর চিন্তায় এই সময়ই স্যামুয়েল স্যার সবচেয়ে বেশী রেগে যান ।।

 22)But today Samuel appeared very gentle.    

= কিন্ত আজ স্যামুয়েলস্যারকে খুব শান্ত/ আমায়িক মনে হল ।।  

  23)“Swaminathan, where is your homework?”

= “ স্বামীনাথন তোমার বাড়ির কাজ কোথায় ? ” 

24)“I have not done my homework, sir,” Swami said. 

= স্বামী বলল, “ আমি আমার বাড়ির কাজ করিনি ,স্যার”।      

25)“Why – headache?” asked Samuel.

= স্যামুয়েলস্যার জিজ্ঞাসা করেন , “ কেন, মাথার যন্ত্রনা ?”

26)“Yes, sir.”  “All right, sit down”, Samuel said.

 “ হ্যাঁ স্যার ”,       = স্যামুয়েল স্যার বললেন , “ঠিক আছে, বসে পড়” ।

 27)When the bell rang for the last period at 4.30, Swami picked up his books and ran to the headmaster’s room.

= সাড়ে চারটার সময় যখন শেষ পিরিয়ডের ঘন্টা বাজল, স্বামী তার বইপত্র তুলে নিয়ে প্রধানশিক্ষকের ঘরের দিকে দৌড়াল ।।

28)He found the room locked.     

= সে দেখল ঘরটি তালাবন্ধ ।।              

 29)  The peon told him the headmaster had gone on a week’s leave.

= চাপরাশি তাকে বলল, “প্রধানশিক্ষকমশায় এক সপ্তাহের ছুটিতে গিয়েছেন ” ।

30)Swaminathan ran away from the place.

 = স্বামীনাথন ওই জায়গাটি থেকে দৌড়ে চলে গেল ।।

31)As soon as he entered home with the letter, Father said, “I   knew  you wouldn’t deliver it”.

 = যেই না সে চিঠিটি সঙ্গে নিয়ে বাড়িতে ঢুকল বাবা বললেন, “ আমি জানতাম তুমি চিঠিটা ওনার হাতে দেবে না “ ।

32)“But the headmaster  is on leave”, Swami said.

= স্বামী বলল, “ কিন্তু প্রধানশিক্ষকমশায় ছুটিতে আছেন ” । 

33)Father snatched the letter away from Swami and tore it up.

= বাবা স্বামীর কাছ থেকে চিঠিটি ছিনিয়ে নিলেন এবং ছিঁড়ে ফেললেন ।।

34)“Don’t ever  come to   me   for help  if Samuel scolds you  again.

= এরপর যদি স্যামুয়েল স্যার তোমাকে বকেন তাহলে আর কখনো আমার কাছে সাহায্যের জন্য আসবে না ।।

35)You deserve your Samuel”, he said.

= তিনি বললেন “ তোমার জন্য তোমার স্যামুয়েল স্যারই উপযুক্ত” ।।
