Fathers Help – R.K. Narayan Unit-2 [Class10th]

Unit-2

1)Swami hoped  that with this his father would be made to see why he must avoid school for the day.

=  স্বামী আশা করেছিল যে এবার তার বাবা হয়তো বুঝতে পারবে কেন সে সেই দিন বিদ্যালয়ে যাওয়া এড়িয়ে যাচ্ছে ।

2)But father’s behaviour took an unexpected turn.

= কিন্তু বাবার ব্যবহার অপ্রত্যাশিত ভাবে মোড় নিল ।।

3)He proposed to send a letter with Swami to the headmaster

= তিনি প্রস্তাব দিলেন স্বামীকে দিয়ে প্রধানশিক্ষককে একটি চিঠি পাঠানোর ।।  

4)No amount of protest from Swami would make him change his mind.

= স্বামীর কোন রকম প্রতিবাদ তার চিন্তা / মনস্থির করাকে পাল্টাতে পারবে না ।।

5) By the time Swami  was ready to leave for school, father had composed a long letter to the headmaster.

  = ইতিমধ্যে স্বামী বিদ্যালয়ে যাবার জন্য প্রস্তুত হয়েছিল, বাবা প্রধান শিক্ষককে উদ্দেশ্য করে একটি লম্বা /দীর্ঘ চিঠি লিখেছিলেন ।।

6)He put it in  an envelope and sealed  it. 

= তিনি এটিকে একটি খামের মধ্যে পুরেছিলেন এবং সুরক্ষিতভাবে বন্ধ করেছিলেন   ।

7) “What have you written, Father?” Swami  asked apprehensively. 

=স্বামী শঙ্কিতভাবে জিজ্ঞাসাকরেছিল , “ তুমি কি লিখেছ বাবা ? ”

8)‘Nothing  for you. 

 = তোমার জন্য কিছু না ।।                             

9)Give it to your headmaster  and go to your class”.

= এটা তোমার প্রধানশিক্ষককে দেবে এবং ক্লাসে চলে যাবে ।।

10)“Have you written anything about our teacher Samuel?”

= তুমি কি আমাদের শিক্ষক স্যামুয়েলের সম্পর্কে কিছু লিখেছ ?      

11)“Yes. Plenty of things”.

= হ্যাঁ । অনেক কিছু ।।

12)“What has he done, Father?”      

= “ তিনি কি করেছেন বাবা ? ”                                                           

 13) “Everything is there  in the letter

= “চিঠিটির মধ্যে সবকিছু আছে ”

14)Give it to your headmaster.” 

= “ এটি তোমার প্রধানশিক্ষককে দেবে ” ।       

15)Swami went to school feeling that he was the worst boy on earth.

= স্বামী এই উপলব্ধি/ মনেকরে বিদ্যালয়ে গিয়েছিল যে সে এই পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে খারাপ ছেলে  ।

16) His conscience bothered him.

= তার বিবেক তাকে বিব্রত করেছিল  ।

17)He wasn’t at all sure if his description of Samuel had been accurate.

   = সে একেবারেই নিশ্চিত ছিলনা যে তার দেওয়া স্যামুয়েল স্যারের বর্ননা আদৌ কতটা সঠিক / যথাযথ ।। 

18) He  felt    he had mixed up the real and the imagined.

= সে অনুভব করল যে আসল আর কল্পনা কে সে গুলিয়ে ফেলেছে ।

19)Swami stopped on the roadside to make up his mind about Samuel.

= স্বামী রাস্তার ধারে দাঁড়িয়েপড়েছিল  স্যামুয়েল স্যারের ব্যাপারে মনস্থির করার জন্য ।

20)Samuel was  not such a bad man after all.

= স্যামুয়েলস্যার এতটা খারাপ মানুষ ছিলেন না  

21)Personally he  was much more friendly than the other teachers.

= ব্যাক্তিগতভাবে তিনি অনান্য শিক্ষকদের চেয়ে আরও বেশি বন্ধুভাবাপন্ন ছিলেন ।

22)Swami also felt Samuel  had  a special regard for  him.

= স্বামী অনুভব করল যে স্যামুয়েল স্যারের তার প্রতি বিশেষ মনোযোগ আছে ।

23) Swami’s head was dizzy with confusion.

= হতবুদ্ধি হয়ে স্বামীর মাথাটা ঘুরছিল ।

24)He could not  decide  if Samuel really deserved the allegations made against him in the letter.

 = সে স্থির করতে পারছিল না , স্‌যামুয়েল স্যারের বিরুদ্ধে চিঠিতে করা তার অভিযোগগুলি উপযুক্ত কি না ।

25)The more he thought of Samuel, the more Swami grieved for him.

= স্বামী যতবেশী স্যামুয়েলের কথা চিন্তা করেছিল , ততবেশি সে তার জন্য দুঃখ পেয়েছিল ।

26) To recall Samuel’s dark face, his thin moustache, unshaven check and yellow coat filled Swaminathan with sorrow.

 = স্যামুয়েল স্যারের শ্যামলা মুখ তার পাতলা গোঁফ, দাড়ি না কামানো গাল এবং হলুদ কোটের কথা মনে করে স্বামীর মন  দুঃখে ভরে যাচ্ছিল ।।
