The mountain and the squirrel

= পর্বত এবং কাঠবিড়ালীর

Had   a quarrel:

= মধ্যে ঝগড়া হয়েছিল ।।

And the former called the latter ‘Little prig’.

= প্রথমজন দ্বিতীয়জনকে বলল, ছোট দাম্ভিক / খুদে নীতিবাগীশ

Bun   replied,

= বান ( কাঠবিড়ালীটি ) উত্তরদিল

‘You are doubtless very big;

= নিঃসন্দেহে তুমি অনেক বড়

But all  sorts of things and weather

= কিন্তু সমস্তরকমের জিনিস এবং আবহাওয়া

Must be taken in together

= অবশ্যই একসাথে নিতে হবে ।।

To make up a  year

= একটি বছর গড়ে তুলতে / তৈরি করতে ।

And a sphere.

= এবং একটি কাজের ক্ষেত্রে / পরিবেশ ।

And I think it no disgrace

= আমার মতে / মনে হয় এটি লজ্জার / অসন্মানের বিষয় নয়

To occupy my place.

= আমার জায়গাটা দখল করা / নিয়ে থাকা

If   I’m not so  large   as you,

= যদি আমি তোমার মতো এত বড় নাও বা হই,

You are not so small  as   I,

= তুমিও আমার মতো ছোট নও

And not half  so   spry.

= এবং আমার মতো অর্দ্ধেক প্রানবন্তও নয়

I’ll  not   deny  you make

= আমি অস্বীকার করবনা যে তুমি তৈরি করতে পার

A  very pretty  squirrel  track;

=কাঠবিড়ালীর চলার মতো একটি খুব সুন্দর পথ

Talents differ; all is well and wisely put;

= প্রতিভার তফাৎ হয়, সবই ভালো আর বুদ্ধিমত্তার / বিচক্ষনতার সাথে

If   I cannot carry forests on  my  back,

= আমি যদি পিঠে করে জঙ্গল বইতে না পারি,

Neither can you crack  a  nut’.

= তুমিও একটা বাদাম ভাঙতে পারো না ।।

Dear Raja,

                 I have received your letter just now. Thank you very much for your sweet note. I am glad to know that you are all keeping well. We are also fine.

             In your letter you have asked me a suggestion on how you may spend your leisure time. I think you should grow a habit of reading various books. I know there is a public library in your area. It must be crowded with various books like stories, novels, autobiographies, travelogues, magazines etc. You may find any kind of reference book there also. You will find at least two dailies. Books are said never-failing friends.  A library will enrich you with the knowledge of recent inventions, current affairs also. You can face the competitive exams bravely. So you should take a membership of your public library and start reading book you like. I also suggest you visit the library whenever you can manage some time. A good habit will gradually build up.

BENEFITS OF EARLY MORNING EXERCISES

Exercise is essential for keeping good health. To lead a healthy life, we have to follow a routine in our daily life. For this we need to get up early and take some exercise. In the early morning the air remains fresh and free from pollution. A few miles in the open air supply oxygen to our body and mind. Some free-hand exercise keep our body fit for the day. As the body remains fit, the mind also become active. Through exercises in the morning we can avoid different types of diseases. For the students morning exercises help to increase their concentration. Exercise not only add years to life, but add life to years also. So everyone should try to follow a routine of morning exercises.
