The Journey of Wheels Unit II

1)Once there were two sisters.

= একসময় দুই বোন ছিল ।

2)They lived in a village.

= তারা একটি গ্রামে বাস করত।

3) All day long the elder sister used to work at the spinning wheel.

= সারাদিন বড় বোন চরকায় কাজ করত।   ( elder- এল্ডার,  spinning wheel- স্পিনিং হুইল)

3) She was very hard working.

= সে খুব পরিশ্রমী ছিল ।   (hard working- হার্ড্ ওয়ারকিং)

4) But her younger sister was very lazy.

= কিন্তু তার ছোট বোন খুব অলস ছিল ।     (younger sister- ইয়ংগার সিস্টার,  lazy- লেজি)

5) One day the elder sister was sitting by the well.

= একদিন বড় বোনটি কূয়োর ধারে বসে ছিল।    (well-ওয়েল)

6) She was also working at the spinning wheel.

= সে চরকায় কাজ ও করছিল ।

7) Her hands were wet with sweat.

  = তার হাত দুটি ঘামে ভিজে ছিল ।     ( wet- ওয়েট,  sweat- সোয়েট)

8)  Dirt stuck to the sweat.

= ঘামে ময়লা আটকে ছিল ।    (stuck – স্টাক)

9) So she dipped her hand into the well to clean them.

= তাই সে সেগুলি (হাত দুটি ) পরিষ্কার করার জন্য তার হাত কুয়োয় ডুবিয়ে দিয়েছিল।

10) By mistake, she dropped the shuttle into the well.

= ভুলবশত, সে মাকুটি কূয়োর মধ্যে ফেলে দিয়েছিল ।  (mistake- মিসটেক, dropped-ড্রপড, shuttle- শাটল)

11)  She began to weep.

=  সে কাঁদতে শুরু করেছিল ।

12) The poor little girl dived into the well to get the shuttle.

= অসহায় /বেচারি মেয়েটি মাকুটি পেতে কুয়োতে ঝাঁপ দিয়েছিল ।    (dived- ডাইভড)

13) As she fell, she became senseless.

= সে পড়ে যাওয়ার সাথে সাথে অজ্ঞান হয়ে গেল।    (senseless- সেন্সলেস)

14) Thus she dropped down to the bottom of the well.

= এভাবে সে কূপের নীচে নেমে গেল।  (dropped down – ড্রপড ডাউন, bottom- বটম)     

15) When she awoke she found herself sitting in a meadow.

= যখন সে জেগে উঠল তখন সে নিজেকে একটি তৃণভূমিতে বসে থাকতে দেখেছিল।

16) The sun was shining brightly.

= সূর্য উজ্জ্বলভাবে কিরণ দিচ্ছিল ।    ( shining- শাইনিং,  brightly- ব্রাইটলি)

17) There were flowers everywhere.

= সর্বত্র ফুল ছিল।  (everywhere- এভরিহয়ার)

18) Across the meadow she saw some apple trees.

= তৃণভূমি জুড়ে সে কিছু আপেল গাছ দেখতে পেয়েছিল ।

19) The trees were full of apples.

= গাছগুলো আপেলে ভরা ছিল।

20) As she looked up, each of the trees called out, ’Shake me, shake me.

= যখন সে ওপরের দিকে তাকিয়েছিল, প্রতিটি গাছ ডাক দিয়েছিল, ‘আমাকে নাড়া দাও, আমাকে নাড়া দাও।   (shake- শেক)

21) The apples are all ripe’.

= আপেলগুলি সব পাকা’।   (ripe – রাইপ)

22) So she shook the trees.

= তাই সে গাছগুলোকে ঝাঁকুনি দিল।  (shook- শুক)

23) The apples fell like rain.

= আপেলগুলি বৃষ্টির মত পড়ে গেল।

24) She gathered them in a heap.

= সে স্তূপাকারে সেগুলিকে জড়ো করেছিল ।    ( gathered- গ্যাদার্ড্ ,  heap-হিপ)

25) Then she came to a little house.

= তারপর সে একটি ছোট বাড়িতে আসে ।

26) There she saw an old woman.

= সেখানে সে একজন বৃদ্ধ মহিলাকে দেখতে পেয়েছিল ।

27) The woman had large teeth.

=  মহিলার প্রকান্ড দাঁত ছিল।

28) The girl was afraid.

= মেয়েটি ভয় পেয়ে গিয়েছিল ।  (afraid- অ্যাফরেইড)

29) The girl was about to run away.

= মেয়েটি প্রায় দৌড়ে পালিয়ে যেতে গিয়েছিল ।

30) But the old woman called her, ’Why are you running away?

=  কিন্তু বুড়ি তাকে ডেকে বলল, ‘তুমি পালাচ্ছ কেন?’

31)  Don’t be afraid.

= ভয় পেয়ো না’ ।

32) I am Mother Moon.’

= আমি চাঁদ মা।

33) The old woman spoke very kindly.

= বুড়ি খুব সদয়ভাবে কথা বলল।

34) So, the little girl decided to stay with her.

= তাই, ছোট্ট মেয়েটি তার সাথে থাকার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছিল ।    (decided- ডিসাইডেড)

35) She looked after the old woman.

= সে বুড়ির দেখাশোনা করত।       (looked after- লুকড আফটার)

36) The woman was very happy.

= মহিলাটি খুব খুশি ছিল।

37) The little girl enjoyed good food everyday.

= ছোট্ট মেয়েটি প্রতিদিন ভাল খাবার উপভোগ করত।   (enjoyed- এনজয়েড)

38) She had everything she wanted.

= সে যা কিছু চাইত তাই পেত । (everything- এভরিথিং, wanted- ওয়ান্টেড)

39) But one day, she wanted to go home.

= কিন্তু একদিন, সে বাড়িতে যেতে চেয়েছিল ।  

40) She told Mother Moon her wish.

= সে মা চাঁদকে তার ইচ্ছার কথা জানাল।

41) So the woman took her near a big door.

= তাই মহিলাটি তাকে একটি বড় দরজার কাছে নিয়ে গেল।

42)  At once the door opened.

= সাথে সাথে দরজা খুলে গেল।

43) The girl looked out.

= মেয়েটি বাইরে তাকাল।

44) There was a shower of gold.

= সেখানে সোনার বর্ষ্ন / বৃষ্টি হচ্ছিল। (shower-শাওয়ার)

45) Mother Moon said, “All these are yours.

= চাঁদ মা বললেন, “এগুলো সব তোমার।

46) You work hard all day.

= তুমি সারা দিন কঠোর পরিশ্রম করেছ।

47) This is your reward.”

= এটা তোমার পুরস্কার।”   (reward- রিওয়ার্ড্)

48) The door closed.

= দরজা বন্ধ হয়ে গেল ।

49) The girl found herself in front of her house.

= মেয়েটি তার বাড়ির সামনে নিজেকে দেখতে পেল ।

50) There was a cock close by.

= কাছাকাছি একটি মোরগ ছিল ।

51) It cried out-

= এটা ডেকে উঠেছিল ….

= “কক-এ-ডুডল-ডু

53) Your golden girl comes to you.”

= তোমার সোনার মেয়ে তোমার কাছে এল” ।

54) She entered her house.

=  সে তার বাড়িতে প্রবেশ করল।  (entered- এনটারড)

55)  She told her mother all that had happened.

= সে তার মাকে যা ঘটেছিল তা বলেছিল।   (happened- হ্যাপেন্ড)

 56) Her mother wished the same luck for her younger daughter as well.

= তার মা তার ছোট মেয়ের জন্যও একই সৌভাগ্য কামনা করেছিলেন। (wished-উইশড, younger-ইংগার)

57)  So the younger daughter went and sat by the well.

= তাই ছোট মেয়েটি গিয়ে কূয়োর ধারে বসেছিল ।

58) She dropped the shuttle into the well.

= সে মাকুটিকে কূয়োর  মধ্যে ফেলে দিয়েছিল ।  (dropped-ড্রপড, shuttle- শাটল)

59) She jumped into the well.

= সে কূয়োর ঝাঁপ দিয়েছিল ।  (jumped- জ্যাম্পড)

60) She came to the same meadow.

= সে একই তৃণভূমিতে এসেছিল।

61) She saw the same trees.

=  তিনি একই গাছেদের দেখেছিল ।

62) But she did not shake the trees.

= কিন্তু সে গাছগুলোকে ঝাঁকালো না / নাড়ালো না।

63) She came to stay with Mother Moon.

= সে চাঁদ মায়ের কাছে/সঙ্গে থাকতে এসেছিল।

64) But she was very lazy.

= কিন্তু সে খুব অলস ছিল ।

65) She did not get up in the morning.

= সে সকালে উঠেনি।

66) She did not work hard like her sister.

= সে তার বোনের মতো কঠোর পরিশ্রম করেনি ।

67) Mother Moon did not like her.

= মা চাঁদ তাকে পছন্দ করেননি।

68) So, when she returned home empty-handed, the cock began to cry-
