The Comedy Of Errors Bengali Meaning

(i)

1) The states of Syracuse and Ephesus were enemy states.

 = সাইরাকিউস এবং এফিসাস ছিল পরস্পর দুটি শত্রু রাষ্ট্র।

2) Hence, there was a cruel law in the state of Ephesus, stating that if a merchant of Syracuse was seen in Ephesus, he would be put to death unless he paid a thousand marks for the ransom of his life.

= তাই এফিসাসে একটি নিষ্ঠুর আইন ছিল যাতে বলা হয়েছিল যে, সাইরাকিউসের কোনো বণিককে যদি এফিসাসে দেখা যায় তাহলে তাঁকে মৃত্যুদণ্ড দেওয়া হবে যদি না তিনি তাঁর মুক্তিপণ হিসেবে একহাজার মার্কস দেন।

3)  Aegeon, an old merchant of Syracuse, was seen in the streets of Ephesus, and brought before the duke, either to pay the fine or receive the death sentence.

= ঈজিয়ন নামে সাইরাকিউসের এক বৃদ্ধ বণিককে এফিসাসের রাস্তায় দেখা গেল এবং তাকে ডিউক-এর সামনে আনা হল; তাঁকে বলা হল হয় তাঁকে জরিমানার অর্থ দিতে হবে না হলে মৃত্যুদণ্ড বরণ করতে হবে।

4)  But Aegeon had no money to pay the fine. So the duke had to order him a death sentence as a rule.

= কিন্তু জরিমানা দেওয়ার মতো অর্থ ঈজিয়ানের কাছে ছিল না। তাই আইন অনুযায়ী ডিউক তাঁর মৃত্যুদণ্ড ঘোষণা করতে বাধ্য হলেন।

5) But before giving the sentence, the duke asked him to tell the story of his life and the reason for his being in Ephesus.

= কিন্তু দণ্ড দেওয়ার আগে ডিউক তাঁর জীবন কাহিনি এবং এফিসাসে আসার কারণ জানতে চাইলেন।

6) Aegeon said that he was not at all afraid of death as his pain and sufferings had made him tired of life.

= ঈজিয়ন জানালেন যে তিনি মরতে আদৌ ভীত নন কারণ তীর জীবনের দুঃখ ও যন্ত্রণা তার বেঁচে থাকাকে ক্লান্তিকর করে তুলেছে।

7) He also told that there was not a heavier task for him than to relate the incidents of his unfortunate life.

8) Still, he began to narrate his story.

= তবুও তিনি সেই কাহিনি বলতে শুরু করলেন।

9)  “I was born at Syracuse and was brought up to be a merchant.

= “সাইরাকিউস-এ আমার জন্ম এবং সেখানেই আমার বড়ো হয়ে ওঠা এক বণিক হিসেবে ।

10 ) I married a lady and lived happily.

= আমি এক ভদ্র-মহিলাকে বিয়ে করি এবং সুখে জীবন কাটাতে থাকি।

11) But some time later, I was obliged to go to Epidamnum, and had to stay there for six months.

= কিন্তু কিছুদিন পর আমাকে যেতে হল এপিড্যামনামে এবং সেখানে আমাকে ছ-মাস কাটাতে হল।

12) I was to be there for some time more, so I called my wife to that place.

= সেখানে আরও কিছুদিন থাকতে হবে বলে আমি আমার স্ত্রীকে সেখানে নিয়ে গেলাম।

13) Soon, there she gave birth to two boys who were exactly alike in appearance.

= কিছুদিনের মধ্যে আমার স্ত্রী সেখানে দুটি পুত্র সন্তানের জন্ম দিলেন যাদের দেখতে একেবারেই একরকম ছিল।

14) They were so similar that they could not be differentiated from one another.

= তাদের চেহারায় এতটাই মিল ছিল যে তাদের আলাদা করে চেনার উপায় ছিল না।

15) At the same time, a poor woman who was lodged there also gave birth to twins who were very similar in appearance.

= একই সময়ে একজন দরিদ্র মহিলা যিনি সেখানেই থাকতেন, তিনি দুই যমজ সন্তানের জন্ম দেন। তারাও দেখতে একইরকম ছিল।

16) As their parents were extremely poor, I bought these twins to attend upon my sons.

= যেহেতু এদের বাবা-মা ছিল ভীষণ দরিদ্র, আমি এদের কিনে নিই যাতে এরা আমার ছেলেদের দেখাশোনা করতে পারে।

17)  My sons grew to be fine boys and my wife was proud of them.

= বড়ো হয়ে আমার সন্তানেরা বেশ সুন্দর দুটি ছেলে হয়ে উঠল এবং আমার স্ত্রীও তাদের নিয়ে বেশ গর্ব বোধ করতে লাগলেন।

18) She, however, wanted to return home. I, at last, agreed.

= যাই হোক, আমার স্ত্রী এবার বাড়ি ফিরে আসতে চাইলেন এবং আমিও শেষমেষ রাজি হলাম।

19) We set out for home.

= আমরা বাড়ির উদ্দেশ্যে রওনা হলাম।

20) It was a bad day because a violent storm soon arose and it grew so terrible that the sailors seeing no chance of saving the ship, escaped in a boat, leaving us alone.

= দিনটা ছিল খুব খারাপ কারণ ভয়ংকর ঝড় উঠল এবং এটা এতটাই ভয়ংকর রুপ ধারণ করল যে নাবিকেরা জাহাজ বাঁচানোর কোনো উপায় নেই দেখে আমাদের ফেলে নৌকা করে পালাল।

21) We feared that the ship could be destroyed any moment.

= আমরা আশঙ্কা করতে লাগলাম যে, যে-কোনো মুহূর্তে জাহাজটা ধ্বংস হয়ে যেতে পারে।

22) My wife and children wept continuously.

= আমার স্ত্রী ও শিশুরা অনবরত কাঁদতে লাগল।

23) Seeing them weep, I feared for their life.

= তাদের কাঁদতে দেখে আমি তাদের জীবনহানির ভয় পেলাম।

24) All my thoughts were bent on contriving means to save them.

= আমি কেবল চিন্তা করতে লাগলাম কীভাবে ওদের বাঁচানো যায়।

25) I thought of a plan trying to save our lives.

= আমি ওদের জীবন বাঁচানোর একটা পরিকল্পনাও করে ফেললাম।

26) I bound my younger son and the younger slave to a spare mast and likewise directed my wife to do the same with the elder ones.

= আমি আমার ছোটো ছেলে ও ছোট ভূত্যটিকে একটি পড়ে থাকা মাস্তুলের সঙ্গে বাঁধলাম এবং আমার স্ত্রীকেও নির্দেশ দিলাম বড়ো দুজনকেও একইরকমভাবে বেঁধে ফেলতে ।

27) Then, we tied ourselves up to the respective masts along with the children.

= এরপর আমি এবং আমার স্ত্রীও নিজেদের আমাদের সন্তানের সঙ্গে নির্দিষ্ট মান্তুলের সঙ্গে বেঁধে ফেললাম।

28) She took care of the elder ones and me of the younger ones.

= তিনি বড়ো দুজনের খেয়াল করতে লাগলেন আর আমি ছোটো দুজনের ।

29) Soon the ship hit a mighty rock and split to pieces.

= কিছুক্ষণের মধ্যেই জাহাজটি একটি মস্ত শিলায় গিয়ে আছড়ে পড়ল এবং ভেঙে টুকরো টুকরো হয়ে গেল।

30) Clinging on the slender masts we were supported above the water.

= সরু মাস্তুলকে আঁকড়ে ধরে আমরা জলে ভেসে থাকতে পারলাম।

31) I, having the care of the two children, could not help my wife.

= দুটো শিশুর খেয়াল রাখতে গিয়ে আমি আমার স্ত্রীকে সাহায্য করতে পারলাম না।

32) They were separated from me and drifted away further.

= তারা আমাদের থেকে আলাদা হয়ে গেলেন এবং জলে ভাসতে ভাসতে দূরে চলে গেলেন।

33) But while they were still in sight, I saw them to be taken aboard on a boat of fishermen, maybe from Corinth.

= তবুও যতক্ষণ তাঁদের দেখা যাচ্ছিল তার মধ্যেই আমি দেখলাম যে সম্ভবত করিন্থ থেকে আসা একটা জেলেদের নৌকা ওঁদের তুলে নিয়েছিল।

34) Seeing them safe, I then struggled to save the two children, who were under my care and after a while, we were also rescued by a ship.

ওদেরকে নিরাপদে দেখে আমি এবার আমার তত্বাবধানে থাকা দুই সন্তানকে বাঁচানোর চেষ্টা চালিয়ে যেতে লাগলাম এবং কিছুক্ষণের মধ্যে আমাদেরকেও একটা জাহাজ এসে উদ্ধার করে নিল।

35) The sailors, knowing me, welcomed and assisted us and took us safely to Syracuse.

= নাবিকেরা আমায় চিনতে পেরে আমায় স্বাগত জানালো ; আমাদের সাহায্য করল এবং আমাদের নিরাপদে সাইরাকিউসে নিয়ে গেল ।

36)  But from that time, I don’t have any news of my wife and my elder son. 

= কিন্তু সেই সময়ে আমার স্ত্রী এবং বড় ছেলের কোন খবর আমার কছে ছিল না ।

37) My younger son, upon being eighteen years, wanted to know about his mother and brother.

= আমার ছোটো ছেলের যখন আঠারো বছর বয়স হল তখন সে তার মা ও দাদার সম্পর্কে জানতে চাইল।

38) He often asked me for my permission to go in search of his elder brother along with Dromio, the younger slave, who had also lost his brother and desired to search for him.

= সে মাঝে মাঝেই আমার কাছে অনুমতি চাইত ড্রোমিও অর্থাৎ ছোটো ভূত্যটিকে নিয়ে তার দাদার সন্ধানে বেরোতে কারণ ড্রোমিও-ও তার দাদাকে হারিয়েছিল এবং তাকে খুঁজে পেতে আগ্রহী ছিল।

39) Initially I was scared for the loss of this son; but, after much hesitation, I gave consent as I also wanted to see my wife and child.

= প্রাথমিকভাবে আমি এই ছেলেকেও হারিয়ে ফেলার ভয়ে ইতস্তত করছিলাম; কিন্তু অনেক ইতস্তত করার পর অবশেষে রাজি হলাম কারণ আমিও আমার স্ত্রী এবং পুত্রকে দেখতে উৎসুক ছিলাম।

40) It has been seven years and my son has not returned.

= সাত বছর হয়ে গেল কিন্তু আমার ছেলে ফিরল না।

41) I have searched for my son throughout the world for five years.

= আমি গত পাঁচ বছর ধরে সারা পৃথিবী জুড়ে আমার ছেলেকে খুঁজে বেরিয়েছি।

42) I have been to the farthest Greece and through the bounds of Asia and while returning home, now, have landed here in search of him because I didn’t want to leave any place unsought on this earth.

= আমি সুদুর গ্রিস থেকে শুরু করে এশিয়ার সীমান্ত পর্বত ঘুরে বেরিয়েছি আমার ছেলের সন্ধানে এবং বাড়ি ফেরার সময় এখানে নেমেছিলাম আমার ছেলের খোঁজে কারণ এমন কোনো জায়গা আমি বাকি রাখতে চাইছিলাম না যেখানে তাকে খোঁজা হয়নি।

43)  This is the story of my life and I would be happy to die if I had known that my wife and sons were livingsafe.” 

= এই হল আমার জীবনের কাহিনি এবং আমি হাসিমুখে মৃত্যুবরণ করতাম যদি আমি এইটুকু জানতে পারতাম যে আমার স্ত্রী এবং সন্তানেরা নিরাপদে বেঁচে রয়েছে।

(ix)

44) Thus, Aegeon narrated the story of his life and stated the reason why he had landed to this country.

= এইভাবে ঈজিয়ন তার জীবনের কাহিনি বর্ণনা করলেন এবং বর্ণনা করলেন কেন তিনি এই দেশে এসেছিলেন।

45) The duke, on hearing the story, was moved.

= ডিউক এই গল্প শুনে খুব মর্মাহত হলেন।

46)  He pitied Aegeon who had brought about the peril to himself at the cost of his sons and wife.

= ঈজিয়নের প্রতি তার করুণা হল কারণ স্ত্রী ও সন্তানদের খুঁজতে গিয়ে তাকে এমন বিপদে পড়তে হয়েছে।

47) But it was not in his power to alter the law of the land, otherwise he would have pardoned him.

= কিন্তু দেশের আইন বদলে দেওয়ার ক্ষমতা তো তাঁর ছিল না, নাহলে তিনি ঈজিয়নকে ক্ষমা করে দিতেন।

48) So, instead of dooming him instantly, he gave him one day to try to pay the fine either by begging or borrowing money from someone. 

= তাই তখনই তীকে মেরে ফেলার বদলে তিনি জরিমানা দেওয়ার জন্য তাঁকে আরও একদিন সময় দিলেন, যাতে তিনি হয় ভিক্ষা করে না হয় ধার করে এই অর্থ দিতে পারেন।

49) This day of grace was not a great favour to Aegeon as he knew none in Ephesus who would help him to pay the fine.

= এই একদিনের ছাড় ঈজিয়নের কাছে খুব সুবিধাজনক মনে হয় না কারণ তিনি এফিসাসে এমন কাউকেই চিনতেন না যে তাকে এই জরিমানার টাকা দিয়ে সাহায্য করবে।

50) He could not hope to get any help from anyone. So, he went with the jailor to spend the night in his custody. 

= কারও কাছ থেকে কোনো সাহায্য পাওয়ার কোনো আশা তিনি করলেন না। তাই তিনি কারাধ্যক্ষের কাছে গেলেন তাঁর হেফাজতে রাত কাটাতে।

51) Aegeon thought that he did not know anyone in Ephesus, but when he was in danger of losing his life for the search of his son, that son and the one who was lost in his childhood, were both present in the city of Ephesus. 

= ঈজিয়ন মনে করেছিলেন যে, তিনি এফিসাসে কাউকেই চেনেন না, কিন্তু তিনি যখন নিজের ছেলের সন্ধানে এমন বিপদের মুখোমুখি হয়েছিলেন, ঠিক তখনই সেই ছেলে এবং যাকে তিনি তার শৈশবে হারিয়ে ছিলেন, দুজনেই এফিসাসে উপস্থিত ছিল।

52) Aegeon’s sons were not only similar in appearance but were also named alike, both being called Antipholus.

= ঈজিয়নের ছেলেরা কেবলমাত্র দেখতেই একরকম ছিল না, তাদের নামও ছিল এক; দুজনকেই অ্যান্টিফোলাস বলে ডাকা হত।

53) Similarly, the twin slaves were also named Dromio.

= এইরকমভাবে দুজন ভূত্যকেও ড্রোমিও নাম দেওয়া হয়েছিল।

54) Aegeon’s younger son, Antipholus of Syracuse, whom his father was searching, came to Ephesus that very same day.

= ঈজিয়নের ছোটো ছেলে অর্থাৎ সাইরাকিউসের অ্যান্টিফোলাস যাকে তার বাবা খুঁজছিলেন সেদিনই এফিসাসে এসেছিল।

55) He was accompanied by the younger Dromio.

= তার সঙ্গে ছিল ছোটো ড্রোমিও।

56) He was also a merchant of Syracuse and was in the same danger as his father.

= সেও সাইরাকিউসেরই একজন বণিক ছিল তাই তারও তার বাবার মতোই জীবনের আশঙ্কা ছিল।

57) He would also have been arrested had he not met a friend who informed him of the peril of the old merchant of Syracuse was in, and advised him to pass himself off as a merchant of Epidamnum.

= সেও গ্রেপ্তার হত যদি না তার সঙ্গে তার এক বন্ধুর দেখা হত; সেই বন্ধু তাকে সাইরাকিউসের সেই বৃদ্ধ বণিকের বিপদের কথা জানাল এবং তাকে উপদেশ দিল এপিড্যামনামের বণিক হিসেবে নিজেকে পরিচয় দিতে।

58) Antipholus Younger agreed to do.

= ছোটো অ্যান্টিফোলাস তাই করতে রাজি হল।

59) When he heard of the fate of a merchant of Syracuse he felt sorry for him.

= সে যখন সাইরাকিউসের বৃদ্ধ বণিকের দুর্ভাগ্যের কথা জানল সে তার জন্য দুঃখ অনুভব করল।

60) He could not imagine that it was his own father that he had heard of. 

= সে ভাবতেও পারেনি যে যার কথা সে শুনল সে আসলে তার নিজের বাবা।

61) The Elder Antipholus had lived at Ephesus twenty years and being a rich man, could have paid the fine for his father’s life but he knew nothing of his father as he was very young when he was saved by the fishermen after the shipwreck.

= বড়ো অ্যান্টিফোলাস কুড়ি বছর ধরে এফিসাসের ছিল এবং ধনী হওয়ায় সে সহজেই তার বাবার মুস্তিপণ দিতে পারত কিন্তু সে তার বাবার সম্পর্কে কিছুই জানত না কারণ নৌকাডুবির পর তাকে জেলেরা যখন বাঁচিয়েছিল সে খুব ছোটো ছিল।

62) The fishermen, who saved his mother and the two children, took them away from their mother with the intention to sell them. 

= এই জেলেরা যারা তাদের বাঁচিয়েছিল তারা দুটি সন্তানকে বিক্রি করে দেওয়ার জন্য মায়ের থেকে আলাদা করে নিয়ে গেল।

63) Elder Antipholus and Elder Dromio were sold to the duke Menaphon, a famous warrior.

= বড়ো আ্যান্টিফোলাস ও বড়ো ড্রোমিওকে ডিউক মেনাফন নামে একজন বিখ্যাত যোদ্ধার কাছে বিক্রি করে দেওয়া হয়েছিল।

64) He was the uncle of the duke of Ephesus, and he took the boys to Ephesus when he went to visit the duke,his nephew. 

= তিনি এফিসাসের ডিউক-এর কাকা ছিলেন এবং তিনি যখন তার ভাইপোর সঙ্জো দেখা করতে যান, তখন তিনি এই ছেলে দুটিকে নিয়ে গিয়েছিলেন।

65) The duke of Ephesus liked Elder Antipholus and made him an officer in the army when he grew up, where he established himself as a brave warrior.

= এফিসাসের ডিউক বড়ো আ্যান্টিফোলাসকে পছন্দ করতেন এবং যখন সে বড়ো হল, তখন তাকে সেনাবাহিনীর উঁচু পদে নিযুস্ত করলেন।

66) He once saved the duke and the duke rewarded him by marrying him to Adriana, a rich lady of Ephesus.

= সেখানে সে একজন সাহসী যোদ্ধা হিসেবে নিজেকে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করেছিল। সে একবার ডিউক-এর জীবন বাঁচিয়েছিল তাই ডিউক-এর পুরস্কার হিসেবে তার সঙ্গে আ্যাদ্রিয়ানা নামে এফিসাসের এক ধনী রমণীর বিয়ে দিয়েছিলেন।

67) At the time that his father came there, Elder Antipholus was living with Adriana. 

= যখন তার বাবা এফিসাসে এসেছিলেন তখন বড়ো আ্যান্টিফোলাস এফিসাসে আ্যাদ্রিয়ানার সঙ্গে জীবন কাটাচ্ছিল।

68) Antipholus of Syracuse, or Antipholus Younger, after he parted with his friend, wanted to move around the city and observe the manners of the people and so he gave Dromio Younger some money to carry to the inn where he intended to dine. 

= সাইরাকিউসের আ্যান্টিফোলাস বা ছোটো আ্যান্টিফোলাস তার বন্ধুর কাছ থেকে বিদায় নেওয়ার পর শহরটাকে একটু ঘুরে এবং এখানকার মানুষের আচার-আচরণ, রীতিনীতি দেখে নিতে চেয়েছিল। তাই সে ছোটো ড্রোমিওকে কিছু টাকা সেই সরাইখানায় নিয়ে যেতে বলেছিল যেখানে সে নৈশভোজ করবে বলে ভেবেছিল।

(xvii)

69) Dromio Younger was a pleasant fellow and when Antipholus Younger was bored and sad, he used to make him happy by jesting with him.

= ছোটো ত্যান্টিফোলাস ছিল খোশমেজাজে প্রকৃতির এবং যখনই ছোটো ত্যান্টিফোলাস একঘেয়ে বা বিষপ্ন বোধ করত তখন ছোটো ড্রোমিও মজা-ঠাট্টা করে তাকে উৎফুল্ল করে তুলত।

70) So Dromio was allowed a freedom of speech which was greater than was usual between master and their servants. 

= তাই ড্রোমিও স্বাভাবিক মালিক-ভূত্য সম্পর্কের থেকে একটু বেশি বাক্‌-স্বাধীনতা ভোগ করত।

(xvii)

71) When Antipholus Younger had sent Dromio Younger away, he thought about his lonely search for his mother and his brother, of whom he did not have any news and he said sorrowfully, “I am like a drop of water in the ocean, which, seeking to find its fellow drop, loses itself in the wide sea.

= ড্রোমিওকে পাঠিয়ে দেওয়ার পর সে তার মা ও ভাইকে খোঁজার কথা একাই অসহায়ভাবে চিন্তা করতে লাগল; তাদের কোনো খবরই সে এখনও জোগাড় করতে পারেনি এবং সে দুঃখিত হয়ে বলতে লাগল,“আমার অবস্থা সমুদ্রের একবিন্দু জলের মতো, যে তার সঙ্গী আর এক বিন্দুকে খুঁজতে গিয়ে অসীম সমুদ্রে নিজেকে হারিয়ে ফেলে।

72) So I unhappily, to find a mother and a brother, do lose myself.” 

=  আমিও তেমনি আমার মা ও ভাইকে খুঁজতে গিয়ে নিজেকে যেন হারিয়ে ফেললাম।”

(xviii)

73) When he was thinking of his useless travels, Elder Dromio came there.

= যখন সে তার এই ব্যর্থ ভ্রমণের কথা একা একা ভাবছিল তখন বড়ো ড্রোমিও এসে সেখানে পৌছোল।

74) Antipholus Younger mistook him for Dromio Younger and wondered how he came so early.

= ছোটো ত্যান্টিফোলাস তাকে ছোটো ড্রোমিও ভেবে ভুল করে ফেলল এবং অবাক হয়ে ভাবতে লাগল কীভাবে সে এত তাড়াতাড়ি চলে এল।

75) He asked him about his money.

= সে ড্রোমিওকে টাকার কথা জিজ্ঞাসা করল।

76) Elder Dromio also mistook Antipholus Younger for his elder brother and said that he was sent by his mistress to fetch Antipholus for dinner.

= বড়ো ড্রোমিও ছোটো আ্যান্টিফোলাসকে তার বড়ো ভাই ভেবে ভুল করল এবং বলল গৃহক্রী তাকে পাঠিয়েছেন আ্যান্টিফোলাসকে বাড়ি থেকে ডেকে নিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য।

77) He also said that the food would be cold if he did not go home.

= সে আরও বলল যে, সে না খেলে খাবার ঠান্ডা হয়ে যাবে।

78) Antipholus Younger thought that Dromio was jesting and he again asked about his money.

79) Dromio once again talked of his mistress and that she wanted him to go home for dinner.

= ড্রোমিও আবারও মালকিনের কথা বলল এবং বলল যে তার মালকিন তাকে বাড়ি যেতে বলেছে।

80) Antipholus asked, “What mistress?” Dromio replied, “Why your worship’s wife, sir.”

= আ্যান্টিফোলাস জিজ্ঞাসা করল, “কীসের মালকিন?” ড্রোমিও উত্তর দিল, “কেন প্রভূ, আপনার স্ত্রী।”

81)  To this answer, Antipholus Younger, having no wife,got so angry that he said he that sometimes he talked freely to Dromio but he was at that time not in a mood to jest with him.

= এই শুনে ছোটো আ্যান্টিফোলাস, যে আসলে অবিবাহিত ছিল, ভীষণ রেগে গেল এবং বলল যে, যদিও সে তার সঙ্গে খোলামেলা কথাবার্তা বলে তাই বলে সে এখন এমন মজা করার মানসিক পরিস্থিতিতে নেই।

82)  He again asked him about the money and said that as they were strangers in that land, Dromio should not have trusted the money in any other’s custody.

= সে আবার টাকার কথা জিজ্ঞাসা করল এবং বলল যেহেতু তারা এখানে নতুন, তাই কোনো অপরিচিত মানুষের কাছে বিশ্বাস করে টাকাটা রেখে আসা তার ঠিক হয়নি।

83) Dromio, on hearing that they were strangers in that land thought that Antipholus was jesting with him and he suggested that he could jest while having dinner.

= ড্রোমিও যখন শুনল যে তারা এখানে নতুন সে ভেবে নিল যে, আ্যান্টিফোলাস তার সঙ্গে মজা করছে এবং বলল তারা অহেতুক সময় নষ্ট না করে খেতে খেতেই এই সমস্ত মজা করতে পারেন।

84) Now Antipholus Younger lost all patience and beat Elder Dromio.

= এবার আ্যান্টিফোলাস তার ধৈর্য হারিয়ে ফেলল এবং ড্রোমিওকে মারতে শুরু করল।

85) Dromio fled to his mistress and reported that his master would not come for dinner as he had no wife. 

= ড্রোমিও পালিয়ে তার মালকিনের কাছে চলে গেল এবং জানাল যে সে খেতে আসবে না যেহেতু তার কোনো স্ত্রী নেই।

86) Adriana got furious on hearing that her husband had refused to acknowledge her.

= তার স্বামী তাকে অস্বীকার করেছে এটা জেনে অ্যাড্রিয়ানা ভীষণ রেগে গেল।

87) She thought that her husband meant that he was in love with another lady.

88) She flew in a violent rage and reproached her husband. Luciana, her younger sister, tried to bring her out of her groundless suspicions. 

= ভীষণ রেগে গিয়ে সে তার স্বামীকে তিরস্কার করতে শুরু করল; লুসিয়ানা, তার ছোটো বোন, তাকে এই ভিত্তিহীন সন্দেহ থেকে মুস্ত করতে চেষ্টা করল।

89) Antipholus of Syracuse, returned to the inn and found his Dromio with the money in safety and was about to chide him for his jests when Adriana came in.

= সাইরাকিউসের আ্যান্টিফোলাস সরাইখানায় পৌছাল এবং দেখল যে ড্রোমিও সেখানে টাকা নিয়ে নিরাপদে রয়েছে; সে ড্রোমিওকে অহেতুক মজা করার জন্য বতে যাচ্ছিল, আ্যাড্রিয়ানাও সেখানে পৌছাল।

90) She addressed Antipholus Younger as her husband, not doubting him and chided him for looking at her strangely.

 = অ্যাড্রিয়ানা তাকে স্বামী সম্বোধন করল এবং কোনো সংশয় না করেই তার দিকে অদ্ভুতভাবে তাকানোর জন্য তাকে তিরস্কার করতে শুরু করল।

91)  She then told him how well he had loved her before they were married and said that now he loved someone else and not her.

= আ্যাড্রিয়ানা তাকে আরও বলল যে, বিয়ের আগে সে তাকে কত ভালোবাসত এবং এখন সে আর আগের মতো তাকে ভালোবাসে না, সে অন্য্ কাউকে ভালোবাসে।

92) She asked him why she had lost his love.

= সে তাকে জিজ্ঞাসা করল কেন সে তার ভালোবাসাকে হারাল।

93) Antipholus was atonished and asked whether it was him that the woman was talking to.

= আ্যান্টিফোলাস অবাক হয়ে গেল এবং জিজ্ঞাসা করল যে সেই মহিলা তাকেই এই প্রশ্ন করছে কি না?

94) In vain he tried to convince the woman that he was not her husbandand that he had been in Ephesus only two hours before.

= সে বোঝানোর ব্যর্থ চেষ্টা করতে লাগল সে তার স্বামী নয় এবং সে মাত্র দুঘণ্টা আগে এফিসাসে এসেছে।

95) But she insisted on his going to her home and seeing no other way, he followed her to his brother’s house.

= কিন্তু অ্যাড্রিয়ানা তাকে নিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্যে জেদ করতে লাগল এবং কোনো রাস্তা না দেখে সে তার ভাইয়ের বাড়িতে যেতে বাধ্য হল ।

96) He then had dinner with Adriana and her sister, where Adriana called him her husband and the other her brother.

= সে তারপর অ্যাড্রিয়ানা এবং তার বোনের সাথে রাতের খাবার খেতে বাধ্য হল যেখানে অ্যাড্রিয়ানা তাকে তার স্বামী বলে সম্বোধন করল এবং অন্যজন তার দাদা ।

97) Antipholus thought he must have been married to her in his sleep or was sleeping now.

= আ্যান্টিফোলাস ভাবতে লাগল হয় সে তাকে ঘুমিয়ে ঘুমিয়ে বিয়ে করেছে আর না হলে এখন সে ঘুমিয়ে স্বপ্ন দেখছে।

98) And, Dromio Younger, too, was surprised to find that the cook-maid, who was his brother’s wife, claimed him to be her husband. 

=  ছোটো ড্রোমিও-ও অবাক হল বাড়ির রাঁধুনি, যে আসলে তার ভাইয়ের স্ত্রী, তাকে তার স্বামী বলে দাবি করতে লাগল।

99) Now, when Antipholus of Syracuse was having dinner with his brother’s wife, his brother the real husband, returned home to dinner with Elder Dromio.

=এখন যখন সাইরাকিউজের অ্যান্টিফোলাস তার দাদার স্ত্রীর সঙ্গে রাতের খাবার খাচ্ছিল তখন তার দাদা , প্রকৃত স্বামী, বাড়ি পৌঁছোল বড়ো ড্রোমিওর সঙ্গে ।

100) But the servants did not allow them inside as their mistress had ordered not to allow anyone inside the house.

= কিন্তু বাড়ির ভূত্যরা তাকে প্রবেশ করতে দিল না। কারণ, তাদের গৃহকরত্রীর আদেশ ছিল বাড়ির ভিতর অন্য কাউকে ঢুকতে না দিতে ।

101) When Elder Antipholus repeatedly knocked and said they were Antipholus and Dromio, the maids laughed at them and said that Antipholus was at dinner with his wife and Dromio was in the kitchen.

= কড়া নাড়তে লাগল এবং বলল যে তারা ত্যান্টিফোলাস এবং ড্রোমিও তখন কাজের মেয়েরা তাদের কথা শুনে উপহাস করে বলল যে ত্যান্টিফোলাস তার স্ত্রীর সঙ্গে নৈশভোজ করছে এবং ড্রোমিও রান্না ঘরে রয়েছে।

102)  Antipholusgot angry and went away, surprised to hear that a gentleman was dining with his wife. 

= আ্যান্টিফোলাস রেগে চলে গেল। সে ভেবে অবাক হল যে, কোনো পরপুরুষ তার স্ত্রীর সঙ্গে নৈশভোজ করছে।

103) When Antipholus had finished his dinner, he was surprised because Adriana still claimed to be his wife and hearing that Dromio had also been claimed by her cook-maid they escaped from the house at the first chance that they could get.

= যখন আ্যান্টিফোলাসের খাওয়া শেষ হল, তখন সে অবাক হল কারণ ত্যাদ্রিয়ানা তখনও নিজেকে তার স্ত্রী বলে দাবি করতে লাগল; সে যখন শুনল বাড়ির রাঁধুনিও ড্রোমিওকে তার স্বামী বলে দাবি করছে তখন সুযোগ বুঝে সেখান থেকে পালিয়ে গেল।

104) However, Antipholus was attracted to Luciana though he did not like Adriana’s jealous temper.

= যাই হোক আ্যান্টিফোলাস লুসিয়ানার প্রতি আকৃষ্ট হল যদিও আডরিয়ানার ঈর্ষাকাতর প্রকৃতি তার পছন্দ হল না।

105) Dromio also was not satisfied with his wife in the kitchen so both of them were happy to get rid of their wives. 

= ড্রোমিও-ও তার এই রান্নাঘরের স্ত্রীকে নিয়ে একেবারেই খুশি ছিল না; তাই তারা দুজনেই সেখান থেকে পালিয়ে বাঁচল ।

106) As soon as they left the house, they met a goldsmith who called Antipholus Younger by name and gave him a gold chain claiming that he had ordered him to do so.

= সেই বাড়ি ছেড়ে বেরোতে না বেরোতেই এক স্বর্ণকারের সঙ্গে তাদের দেখা হল যে আ্যান্টিফোলাসকে নাম ধরে ডাকল এবং তাকে একটা সোনার হার দিয়ে দাবি করল যে, আ্যান্টিফোলাস তাকে এটা বানানোর আদেশ দিয়েছিল।

107) Antipholus could not convince him that he was not the man who had ordered him to do so.

= আ্যান্টিফোলাস তাকে বোঝাতে পারল না যে সে সেই লোক নয় যে তাকে হার তৈরির আদেশ দিয়েছিল ।

108) But the man left the chain with him and went away.

= কিন্তু সেই মানুষটি তাকে হারটা দিয়ে সেখান থেকে চলে গেল।

109) Antipholus, after the strange happenings, decided to leave the place immediately and ordered Dromio to get things on board thinking that strange things were happening and the place was bewitched. 

= এইসব অদ্ভুত ঘটনা ঘটছে দেখে আ্যান্টিফোলাস সেখান থেকে তাড়াতাড়ি চলে যাওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিল এবং ড্রোমিওকে আদেশ করল মালপত্র জাহাজে তুলতে; সে ভাবল অদ্ভুত সব ঘটনা ঘটছে কারণ এই জায়গাটা বোধ হয় ভূতুড়ে।

110) Immediately after leaving the chain with Antipholus of Syracuse, the goldsmith was arrested for a sum of money he owed.

= আ্যান্টিফোলাসকে হারটা দিয়ে যাওয়ার পর সেই স্বর্ণকার একজনের কাছ থেকে নেওয়া খণের দায়ে গ্রেফতার হল।

111) Just at that moment, Antipholus of Ephesus happened to pass that way.

= ঠিক সেই সময় এফিসাসের আ্যান্টিফোলাস সেই রাস্তা দিয়ে যাচ্ছিল।

112) Seeing him, the goldsmith claimed for the money he owed to him for the delivery of the gold chain that Antipholus had ordered.

= স্বর্ণকার তখন হারটার জন্য পাওনা টাকা আ্যান্টিফোলাসের কাছে দাবি করল।

113) Antipholus demanded that he did  not get the delivery of the chain and the goldsmith claimed that he had done back.

= আ্যান্টিফোলাস দাবি করল যে সে হারটা পায়নি এবং অন্যদিকে স্বর্ণকারও দাবি করল যে সে আ্যান্টিফোলাসকে হারটা দিয়ে দিয়েছে।

114) However, both were arrested and taken into custody. 

= এমতাবস্থায় দুজনকেই গ্রেফতার করা হল এবং পুলিশের হেফাজতে নিয়ে যাওয়া হল।

115) When Elder Antipholus was being taken to prison, he met Dromio Younger, who had come to tell him that the ship was ready for sail.

= যখন বড়ো আ্যান্টিফোলাসকে কারাগারে নিয়ে যাওয়া হচ্ছিল, তখন তার সঙ্গে ছোটো ড্রোমিও-র দেখা হল।

116) Antipholus mistook him for his own slave and ordered him to go and get the money from his wife for which he was arrested.

= সে আ্যান্টিফোলাসকে খবর দিতে এসেছিল যে জাহাজটা ছাড়তে চলেছে।; আ্যান্টিফোলাস তাকে নিজের ভূত্য ভেবে ভুল করে ফেলল এবং তাকে আদেশ করল বাড়ি গিয়ে তার মালকিনের কাছ থেকে সেই টাকাটা নিয়ে আসতে যার জন্য সে গ্রেফতার হয়েছে।

117) Dromio was surprised because his master was sending him to the same house from which they had escaped.

= ড্রোমিও অবাক হয়ে গেল এই ভেবে যে, যে বাড়ি থেকে তারা পালিয়ে এসেছে, সেই বাড়িতেই আবার তার প্রভু তাকে পাঠাচ্ছে।

118) However, he decided to obey the order of his master though he did not like to face Dowsabel, who claimed to be his wife. 

= যাইহোক সে তার প্রভুর কথা অমান্য করল না, যদিও তার একেবারেই ইচ্ছা ছিল না ডাউসাবেলের মুখোমুখি হওয়ার, যে তার স্ত্রী বলে নিজেকে দাবি করেছিল।

119) Adriana gave Dromio Younger the money and as he was returning with that, he met Antipholus Younger, his master, who had met with strange adventures where many saluted him as an old acquaintance.

= আ্যাডরিয়ানা ছোটো ড্রোমিওকে সেই টাকাটা দিয়ে দিল যখন সে সেই টাকা নিয়ে ফিরছিল তখন তার সঙ্গে দেখা হয়ে গেল তার প্রকৃত প্রভু ছোটো আ্যান্টিফোলাসের। ছোটো আ্যান্টিফোলাস তাকে জানাল যে তার অদ্ভুত কিছু অভিজ্ঞতা হয়েছে।

120) Some offered him money that they owed, some thanked him for his kindness and a tailor showed him the silks that he had bought him, insisting that he gave his measurement for some clothes. 

= অনেকেই তাকে পূর্বপরিচিত বলে অভিবাদন করেছে, কেউ তাকে টাকা ফেরত দিতে গেল যেটা তারা তার কাছ থেকে নাকি ধার নিয়েছিল, আবার কেউ তার দয়ালু প্রকৃতির জন্য তাকে ধন্যবাদ জানাল,  একজন দরজি তাকে একটা রেশমের কাপড় দেখিয়ে বলল যে, সে সেটা কিনে রেখেছিল এবং সেটা বানানোর জন্য মাপ দিতে গীড়াপীড়ি করতে লাগল।

121) Antipholus Younger thought he was among sorcerers and witches and Dromio Younger too could not help him as he wanted to know how his master got free from the arrest and he gave the purse of gold that he got from Adriana.

= ছোটো আ্যান্টিফোলাস ভাবল যে, সে বোধ হয় জাদুকরি ও ডাইনিদের খপ্পরে পড়েছে;  ছোটো ড্রোমিও-ও তাকে সাহায্য করতে পারল না, কারণ সে নিজেই ধাঁধায় পড়ে গেল যে তার প্রভু ছাড়া পেল কীভাবে; অ্যাড্রিয়ানা যে স্বর্ণমুদ্রার  থলিটা তাকে দিয়েছিল সে সেই থলিটা ছোটো আ্যান্টিফোলাসকে দিল।

122) Thinking that Dromio had gone mad, Antipholus prayed to God to relieve them from this confusion. 

= আ্যান্টিফোলাস ভাবল যে ড্রোমিও বোধ হয় পাগল হয়ে গেছে; তাই সে ভগবানের কাছে প্রার্থনা করল এই বিভ্রান্তি থেকে তাদের মুক্তি দেওয়ার জন্য।

123) Now another lady came up to him and she,too, called him Antipholus Younger and told him that he had dined with her that day and asked him to give her the gold chain that he had promised to give.

= এই সময় আর-একজন মহিলা তার কাছে এল এবং সে আ্যান্টিফোলাস (ছোটো)-কে নাম ধরে সম্বোধন করে করে জানাল যে আ্যান্টিফোলাস সেদিন তার সঙ্গে নৈশভোজ করেছিল; মহিলাটি আ্যান্টিফোলাসকে তার দেওয়া প্রতিশ্রুতি অনুযায়ী তাকে সোনার হারটি দিতে বলল।

124) When Antipholus denied having known the lady or to have promised her anything, she demanded that she be given back the ring that she had given him.

= যখন আ্যান্টিফোলাস এসব অস্বীকার করে বলল যে, সে তাকে চেনেও না এবং এমন কোনো প্র প্রতিশ্রুতি ও সে তাকে দেয়নি, তখন ওই মহিলা তার দেওয়া আংটিটিকে তাকে ফিরিয়ে দিতে বলল।

125) On hearing of her ring and the demand to return the same, Antipholus Younger called her sorceress and fled from that place leaving the lady astonished at his wild behaviour.

= তখন আ্যান্টিফোলাস তাকে মায়াবিনী বলে তিরস্কার করল এবং তারপর সেখান থেকে পালিয়ে গেল;  আ্যান্টিফোলাস -র এই অদ্ভুত আচরণে মহিলাটি ভীষণ অবাক হল,

126) She too had mistaken Antipholus of Syracuse with his elder brother with whom she had dined. 

= সেও সাইরাকিউসের আ্যান্টিফোলাসকে তার বড়ো ভাই ভেবে ভুল করে ফেলেছিল যার সঞ্জে আসলে সে নৈশভোজ করেছিল।

127) When the married Antipholus was denied admittance into the house, he resolved to dine with this lady with the object to avenge the insult of the refusal of admittance to his house the previous night.

= যখন বিবাহিত আ্যান্টিফোলাসকে তার নিজের বাড়িতে প্রবেশের অনুমতি দেওয়া হল না, তখন সে এর প্রতিশোধ নেওয়ার জন্য নিজেও অন্য এক মহিলার সঙ্গে নৈশভোজ করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিল।

128) The lady received him cordially and Antipholus having being despised by his wife, promised to present this woman the gold chain that he had previously ordered for his wife.

= সেই মহিলা তাকে আন্তরিকভাবে স্বাগত জানাল এবং তার স্ত্রী তাকে অবজ্ঞা করছে বলে সেই ক্ষোভে আ্যান্টিফোলাস (বড়ো) সেই মহিলাকে কথা দিয়েছিল যে তাকে সোনার হার উপহার দেবে যেটা আসলে আ্যান্টিফোলাস তার নিজের স্ত্রীর জন্য বানাতে দিয়েছিল।

130)  On hearing of the gold chain, this lady, being overwhelmed gave Elder Antipholus a ring, which Antipholus of Syracuse refused to have received from her.

= সোনার হারের কথা শুনে সেই মহিলা আহ্লাদিত হয়ে পড়ে এবং নিজেও আ্যান্টিফোলাসকে একটা সোনার আংটি উপহার দেয়; আ্যান্টিফোলাস (ছোটো) এই আংটির কথাই অস্বীকার করেছিল।

131) Now this lady, thinking Antipholus Younger to be out of his mind, resolved to go to Adriana and tell her that her husband had gone mad.

= এখন এই মহিলা ভাবতে শুরু করল যে আ্যান্টিফোলাসের মাথা খারাপ হয়ে গেছে; তাই সে ঠিক করে ফেলল যে অ্যাড্রিয়ানাকে কে একথা জানাবে যে তার স্বামী পাগল হয়ে গেছে।

132) While she was relating her story, Antipholus, the husband, came with the jailor for the money that Adriana had already sent with the other Dromio, who had delivered it to the other Antipholus. 

= যখন সেই মহিলা অ্যাড্রিয়ানাকে এই গল্প বলছিল তখন আ্যান্টিফোলাস (বড়ো) অর্থাৎ তার স্বামী জেলারের সঙ্গে টাকার জন্য বাড়িতে এসে পৌঁছোল যেটা অ্যাড্রিয়ানা ইতিমধ্যেই ড্রোমিওর (ছোটো) হাতে পাঠিয়ে দিয়েছিল এবং ড্রোমিও-ও আ্যান্টিফোলাসকে (ছোটো) দিয়ে দিয়েছিল।

133) Adriana believed the lady because Antipholus accused her of shutting him out of the house.

= অ্যাড্রিয়ানা ও তার কথা বিশ্বাস করে নিল কারণ আ্যান্টিফোলাস অভিযোগ করল যে তাকে বাড়িতে ঢুকতে দেওয়া হয়নি।

 134) She remembered how he had denied to have known her or to be her husband at dinner- time the previous night.

= তার আরও মনে পড়ে গেল কীভাবে গত রাত্রে সে অ্যাড্রিয়ানাকে চিনতে পারছিল না আর রাত্রে খাওয়ার সময় সে মানতেই চাইছিল না যে সে তার স্বামী।

135) She, therefore, paid the money to the jailor and ordered her  servants to bind him and take him to a dark room till the doctor was called to cure his madness.

= সে তাই জেলারকে টাকাটা দিয়ে দিল এবং ভৃত্যদের আদেশ করল তাকে ধরে একটা অন্ধকার ঘরে তুলতে এবং একজন ডাক্তারকে ডেকে আনতে।

136) Antipholus vainly tried to deny the allegations and his anger only made matter worse as it convinced them that he had surely gone mad.

= তার বিরুদ্ধে আনা এইসব অভিযোগ অস্বীকার করার চেষ্টা করে আ্যান্টিফোলাস ব্যর্থ হল  কারণ সকলের কাছে এতে আরও জোরালো হল যে সে সত্যিই পাগল হয়ে গেছে।

137) Elder Dromio, who confirmed what his master had said, fell into the same position as his master. 

= সে যত রাগ করতে লাগল তার পরিস্থিতিও ততটাই খারাপ হতে থাকল  ড্রোমিও যখন তার প্রভুর কথার সমর্থন করতে গেল, তারও একই পরিস্থিতি হল।

138) Soon after, a servant came and reported that Antipholus and Dromio had broken loose from captivity as they were seen roaming in the next street. 

= কিছুক্ষণ পরেই একজন ভৃত্য এসে খবর দিল যে, আ্যান্টিফোলাস এবং ড্রোমিও পালিয়ে গেছে কারণ তাদেরকে কাছেই এক রাস্তায় দেখা গিয়েছিল।

139) On hearing this, Adriana with her sister and some people went to fetch her husband once again.

= এই শুনে অ্যাড্রিয়ানা তার বোন এবং আরও কয়েকজন লোককে নিয়ে আবার তার স্বামীকে ধরতে গেল।

140) They found the other twin brothers at the gates of a convent in their neighborhood and were again deceived by their likeness. 

= তারা অন্য দুই যমজ ভাইকে একটি সন্ন্যাসিনীদের মঠের সামনে দেখতে পেল এবং আবারও তাদের সাদৃশ্যের কারণে তারা ভুল করে ফেলল।

141) Here, Antipholus Younger was perplexed as the goldsmith accused him that he had denied having received the chain and refused to pay for the same.

= এখানে ছোট আ্যান্টিফোলাস কিং –কর্তব্য-বিমূঢ হয়ে গেল কারন স্বর্ণকারটি তাকে অভিযোগ করল যে সে তার থেকে হারটি নেওয়ার কথা  আস্বীকার করেছে  এবং তার দাম দিতেও অস্বীকার করেছে ।

142) In fact, he was wearing that round his neck after this man had given him that.

= প্রকৃতপক্ষে সে স্বর্ণকারএর দেওয়া হারটি তখনও গলায় পরেছিল ।

143)  Antipholus protested that the goldsmith had freely given him the chain and he had not seen him after that. 

= আ্যান্টিফোলাস প্রতিবাদ করে বলেছিল যে স্বর্ণকার তাকে হারটি বিনমূল্যে দিয়েছিল এবং তার পর থেকে তার সঙগে আর দেখাই হয়নি ।

144) When Adriana saw him and claimed him to be her husband who had broken free from captivity, and wanted him to be captured again along with Dromio, Antipholus and his servant ran to the convent and begged the abbess to give them shelter.

168) But Antipholus denied having known this person and said that he had never seen his father since the storm that happened in his infancy.

169)  Aegeon thought that his son might be behaving in that manner because of grief and anxieties that he had faced so long in his search for his brother or that he was ashamed in such a state.
