O say, what is that thing called light,

= ওগো বলো না কি সেই বস্তু (জিনিস) যাকে বলে আলো,

Which I      can ne’er enjoy?

= যা আমি কোনও দিন উপভোগ করতেই পারিনি ? (ne’er-নেভার, enjoy-এনজয়)

What is the blessing of the sight?

= দৃষ্টির আর্শীবাদই বা কি ? (blessing-ব্লেসিং)

O tell your poor blind boy!

= ওগো, তোমার ওই অসহায়/বেচারা/ হতভাগ্য  অন্ধ ছেলেকে বলো ।

You talk of wondrous things you see,

= তুমি যেসব চমৎকার জিনিসগুলি দেখ সেগুলির কথা বলো, (wondrous- ওয়ানডারস)

You say the sun shines bright;

= তুমি বলো য়ে সূর্য্ উজ্জ্বলভাবে কিরণ দেয় । (shines-সাইনস, bright-ব্রাইট)

 I        feel     him warm, but   how can he

= আমি তার উষ্ণতা অনুভবকরি, কিন্তু কেমন করে সে পারে

Then make it day or night?

= তারপর দিন বা রাত্রি তৈরি করেতে ?

My day or night myself I make

= আমার দিন বা রাত, আমি নিজেই তৈরি করি

Whene’er I sleep or play;

= যখন আমি ঘুমাই বা খেলা করি,

And   could I ever keep awake

= এবং যতক্ষন আমি জেগে থাকতে পারি

With me ’twere always day.

= তখন আমার সবসময় দিন থাকে (মনে হয়) ।

With heavy sighs   I often hear

= আমি মাঝে মাঝেই গভীর দীর্ঘ্ শ্বাস ফেলার আওয়াজ শুনি ।  (sighs-সাইস)

You  mourn   my    hapless woe;

= আমার ভাগ্যহীন দুঃখের জন্য তুমি বিলাপ করো । (mourn-মোর্ন্ hapless-হ্যপলেস)

But sure with patience I can bear

= কিন্তু এটা আমি নিশ্চিত ধৈর্য্ সহকারে সহ্য করতে পারি (patience-পেসেন্স)

A   loss   I   ne’er know.

= এমনই এক ক্ষতি যা আমি কখনওই জানিনা (টের পাইনা)।

Then let not what I cannot have

= তাহলে আমার যা নেই সেটা বলোনা / কোরোনা

My cheer of mind destroy;

= আমার মনের আনন্দ ধ্বংস হবে; (cheer-চিয়ার destroy-ডেসট্রয়)

Whilst thus      I  sing, I am a king,

= এইভাবে যখন আমি  গান গাই, আমি ততক্ষন রাজা, (whilst-হোয়াইলস্ট)

Although a poor blind boy.

= যদিও আমি একজন অসহায়/ হতভাগ্য  অন্ধ্ বালক ।।  (although-অলদো)
